Candidate's Statement (reproduced exactly as written)

My wife and I discovered Homer on a fishing trip in 2015.  The natural beauty and strength of community are the reasons we became full-time residents.  I am a candidate for City Council because I want to help keep a balance in this unique community's development and direction.  I bring many years of successful business experience as a high-tech executive that includes working with diverse people, projects, and, most importantly, budgets. The pandemic's effects including loss of tourism and oil revenues at the  local and state levels have placed a burden on all Homerites. As a City 
Council member, my focus will be on crafting solutions and developing community dialogue and outreach strategies.  I am a good listener. Taking action through the city council to deal with the continuing challenges presented by the pandemic, including infrastructure, economic development, and health/security concerns, will be of paramount importance .
This is a time to come together as a community, with common sense and ethical consideration applied 
to the issues brought before the City Council. I ask for your vote on October 6th.
